1 US$ in millions

Current Assets
The current assets exhibited significant volatility over the period under review. Initially, there was a steady increase from 910 million US dollars at the end of 2006 to a peak of 6,659 million US dollars in 2008. This sharp rise was followed by a pronounced decline in 2009 to 2,102 million US dollars. Subsequently, current assets demonstrated a recovery trend, reaching 6,398 million US dollars by the end of 2011. After 2011, a downward trend was observed, with current assets decreasing to 2,459 million US dollars by 2015.
Current Liabilities
Current liabilities showed a general upward trajectory throughout the period, starting at 2,490 million US dollars in 2006 and rising to 5,370 million US dollars in 2011, marking the highest point during the decade. Following that peak, a gradual reduction occurred, bringing current liabilities down to 3,949 million US dollars by the end of 2015. Despite the decline in the latter years, liabilities remained elevated relative to the starting point.
Current Ratio
The current ratio fluctuated markedly over the period. It began at a low level of 0.37 in 2006, indicating relatively weak short-term liquidity. The ratio increased substantially to 2.32 in 2008, reflecting improved liquidity conditions. However, this improvement was temporary as the ratio declined to 0.71 by 2009. From 2010 onward, the current ratio remained below 1.5, with levels mostly around or below 1, indicating consistent liquidity pressure. Towards the end of the period, the ratio stabilized somewhat, ranging between 0.41 and 0.62, which is suggestive of ongoing challenges in meeting short-term obligations with current assets.
